Insights from 200+ Recruiters on their Biggest Candidate Headaches

If you're a recruiter, then you know that finding qualified candidates can be a headache. And if you're looking for some insights on what makes recruiters' lives difficult, then look no further! We surveyed over 200 recruiters to get their thoughts on the biggest candidate headaches they face. Interestingly, we found some similarities and differences in the responses we received. So without further ado, here are the good, the bad and the funny of recruiter headaches!

The Good

Getting lots of applications, Great right?

As expected, over 37% of respondents said they received far too many applications and were unable to contact them. But a nagging problem is that 63 percent of recruiters receive irrelevant applications for their job advertisements on a daily basis. This is to be expected given the current climate and the ease with which most job sites allow one-click apply.

The number one response we received when asking about the biggest candidate headache was "finding qualified candidates." This is perhaps not surprising, but it's good to know that recruiters are still able to find qualified candidates despite the challenges they face.

The Bad

One of the most common complaints we heard from recruiters was the lack of response from candidates. In a fast-paced world, it can be hard to keep up with the constant stream of job postings and applications, but it's important to remember that recruiters are taking the time to reach out to you. So if you're not interested in a position, let them know!

This one could be explained by the fact that  66% of recruiters felt that their candidates were problematic, indifferent and do not value them.

The Funny

We also heard some funny stories from recruiters, like the time a candidate showed up to an interview wearing a bathrobe! While it's important to make a good impression at an interview, maybe leave the bathrobe at home.

So there you have it, the good, the bad and the funny of recruiter headaches. We hope this gives you.
